Main has been updated to 0.11.0. This is a protocol update, so clients downloaded before today will be unable to connect to the server. Additionally, due to changes made by Sourceforge, the old updater no longer works so ALL players will need to re-install the game client. After re-installing the updater should work normally.

Here is a link to the Windows installer.

Here is a list of player-visible changes.

I'll be updating the Linux sources in a day or two. Linux users can alternatively download the client sources directly from Sourceforge.

New client uses a different appdata folder. If you want to transfer your old key bindings and/or old kill lists, you need to transfer this manuell. On windows you can type in the search field

%appdata%

or browse manuell there by using the path

c:\users\username\appdata\roaming

from there browse to daimonin folder where you see folder 0.10 and folder 0.11.

Browse setting folder and copy the data you want to transfer. It's mainly:

keys.dat for your keybindings
charname.kills.list for your killlist
interface.gui for your interface adjustments
options.dat for your option settings

You can also copy your old quick.dat, but they are in an extra folder in relation to the server ip.

I thought I fixed this on a re-upload of the installer. When did you download the new client installer?

This was my workflow before using the installer. Didn't know this workflow is deprecated with new installer.

I'm targeting Monday evening for the 0.11.1 release, so it should be available alongside that.

:D :D :D ;D ;D ;D Thank You! I'm on a Chromebook with Linux development installed and I tried the .run file and it worked. So I'm excited to try Daimonin out.

Linux installer for 0.11.1 is available at the download page: https://www.daimonin.org/downloads/sa/view/down/5/

Keep in mind until 0.11.1 is formally released mouse movement doesn't work, as the 0.11.1 client uses server-side mouse movement but the server is still on 0.11.0. If I'm lucky I can get 0.11.1 released in a few hours, which will fix that. In the meantime, you can use the keyboard for movement. By default the number pad is bound to movement, but once you log in you can press F11 to rebind your keys if you don't have a numpad.

There is also a known bug with 0.11.1 on Linux in that the client crashes on logout instead of gracefully returning to the server select screen.

Please let me know if there are any issues with the installer, as I don't run Linux much myself anymore and I've never used our Linux installer creator before. It should be a graphical application (with a terminal fallback), and there should be a shortcut in your programs menu (if you have one). Both of these were sometimes issues during my testing, but I was also on a server build of Linux to test it which may have caused issues.
