Forum Mail Icon Change

Just spent 5 minutes looking for Forum Mail. I'm not sure if the icon that looks like a magnifying glass over a stamp sitting underneath your forum name  in top left corner is the only link but, is there a different icon that can be used. An envelope perhaps, or the word Mail?
