Hi, just wanted to say that I think we should be able to search from the Forum Index. Currently, there's no "search" box.

Right, I realize that. But my suggestion was to place a search box for the forums at the main index level. Sometimes one isn't too certain as to which forum to search in, so being able to search all of the forums for a particular topic/keyword would be useful, in certain situations.

Yeah it's a fair point (a lot of forums have this) -- there is a basic search box in each board, but not at the index level.

However this is down to the forum software being used (currently PNphpBB2) -- customising it would make updating to the latest version tricky.

But with the new site will come a new (and much better) forum which IIRC does have a search box at the top level.

There's now a search box at the top of the forums, and on each forum page. I guess the new web site took care of this suggestion. Thanks so much!

The new search enables mass searches on the entire forum, to small searches from a childboard. It's more flexible and way faster than last times one. So I guess you could say that we now have a "search" option ;).
