Hello.

I'm afraid I havn't been able to check yet... but if your game is music-free I create my own original music using programs such as Audacity, Fruity Loops, Vanguard et cetera

I make professional music and I am currently looking to do the music for a game.

If you do not currently have game music and are interested please reply saying so and I will link you to my audio page where you can listen to some music I have done in the past.

I am of course, doing this for free.

I will create any music you want and we will discuss exactly what you want it to sound like, and what you want to convey. I will have to know what is going on in the backround as this music is being played as well.

I can do battle themes, main themes, character themes, town themes, pretty much anything but I specialize in sad or dark themes.

I anticipate a favorable reply... and if you do not want music or already have it if you could tell me a game which is in need of music please tell me which game.

Thank you.

~MS

awww, you beat me to the punch!
I am a music composition major, and I also would love to make quality orchestral pieces for daimonin.
I always felt a game should keep the original style of using nice classic orchestral music if it's a dark ages / middle ages sort of setting, ya know?
There's always such power that can be achieved using strings the right way with brass to balance it!!

That would rock Gand, throw in a bari sax and I'll officially call you my hero!

oooooooooH!!!
I love bari sax!
it's so smooth and rich, and lovely!!
mmm, gotta love a nice bari doing some sweet tricks
bari in jazz is the best!
I'll see what I can do, though it might be perhaps a year from now, I got to do plenty of work in classes, and practicing too, but I'm assuming from me, most things I'll write will use trombone or euphonium (my instruments) or other bass area instruments :-)  but I love french horn soo much.
don't worry, I'll do my best to make it good, and with any luck I can get the whole university orchestra to take a day out to play something I write to record for this if I can get it managed!
I've played tons of games and listened to the music, and know what to try to do.  I just need experience, and that comes with time and trial.

Daimoin has music, but as a mapper, WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH :). We would looooove new music. In one of these threads there were a few musicians who wanted to help out, so i gave them a short list of what i could come up with:

I am particularily interested in a random dripping background for in caves, wind for mountain passes, and nothing but birds for quite a few of my areas. A nice townsong would be awesome too.

That's from the sticky in the graphic and sound forum. I don't remember what people have completed from that list, but hey, the more the better :). But also, if someone could make some throne room music... i wouldn't mind that either :)

Cheers,

townsong eh? just consider me your man!
give me a week or two and I should have something nice!
(provided I don't go off and blow my time after my college work is over to play games to enjoy life again :-P )
I really should start buckling down to all things, and this will be one of the first!
Next I'm going to have to make those map ideas of mine on that other thread, about the dojos and the rogue-like feature...
That, however, will probably take longer, since I'd have to learn how to map, but I already know how to write and arrange music.
The simple dilemma of time required to learn...
Well, be waiting for a new post all of you daimonites!
When I make several town themes so you can vote on which you prefer, I'll make a post and a poll to go with it, so the community has some input.

Just for some guidance unislash... any idea what sort of attitude you'd like the town song to have?  Like bold, laid-back, pushing the tempo, etc etc, just give me a few moods to try to create in the music, and I'll do my best.  No guarantees on time though... being a music major in two areas is time consuming, not in class, but with practice + studying...

Well, slight background music, the normal townsfolk chatter, but not pushing the tempo. I could imagine people wanting bold and laid back as well.

Remember, though: loopy....

Grommit: Yes, i saw that as i was posting that last post, there. I really like that music and i asked smacky to collect copies of all music material (including that), but my only concern is the whole "can we use it." I can't pass judgement on it... MT can :)

of course loopy.... that shouldn't be hard to do...  I just have to make the chord progressions keep on transitioning, with no real end.  I may not like it, but that's what you need to have with bg music for games...
townsfolk chatter eh?  Well I'll have to see what I can do about adding that in.  I think I got something in my head that's the bold and laid back, with no tempo pushing, again pretty standard stuff for game music.
mmmm I hear this really sweet tympani arrangement that I feel would be perfect and exciting for combat, maybe if I'm lucky someone will let me have a go at the tympani on campus, so that I can work out exactly how I want it.  I may not be a percussion student, but I can still do it!

Brought me into it publically, eh? ;)

Well, I just PMed Uni with some of this info, but here it is again...

The samples at freesound can all be used for free and derivative works created, providing you attribute the original authors. If you have a freesound account (which you need to download them) it creates the attribution list for you.

The sfx I've produced so far have all been derivations/combinations of freesound samples. I am wary of using single samples directly, partly because most of them have bits we don't want or otherwise need editing/modifying, and partly because we don't want Daimonin to sound the same as every other free game in the world...

BTW, there is quite a big difference between game music and sfx.
