So i have been learning the gridarta system, i ran into a small issue though...  How do you rotate the doors?

Once a map is ready for testing, where do i save the map file to test it on my local server.

thx ~cat

On the bottom-left of the arch menu, you'll see something like:

Clicking those buttons before you place an object will cause objects you place to be facing that direction. Over on the right of that, you'll see some tabs "Arch, Msg Text, Events", etc. On the right side of that menu you see another direction menu (if you're on the Arch tab) which allows you to change directions once they've already been placed.

Once you've made some maps, place them anywhere in your /maps folder. You can log into the server, activate SA mode by typing /sa, and type "/goto /planes/human_plane/my_dungeon/my_dungeon_0101" to actually visit it, or you can edit an existing map to add a connection to your mapset.

You might also want to read the Map Naming Conventions to save yourself from having to rename them later.

Here's a guide I wrote in 2009 or so which may help you out:

Looks good! I'd add floor masks to make a subtler transition between grass and dirt, and insert those NPC's into spawn points. You might also look into using pickmaps to add some more decoration (flowers, rocks, shrubs, etc.).

I'll work on this map as much as I can, Its basically teaching me as I go.

TODO:  Add clutter<add intrest to blank tiles>
Add transitions to bold changes in tilesets
            Add Exit/Entrance
            Add another floor on building
            Add Spawnpoints for NPCs
Add Random movement on some NPCs <for test>
Add a quest?  <One should work for now>
            Recolor/recollect archs that are dull

~thx for all the input and for being so patient @_people_
