Ahh great you solved the sound issue. :)
I wish we had git then you could create a pull request with the new #ifdef INSTALL_SOUND directives, think you have to wait till approved for the dev-group with svn access..
Well servers are online, i fear you've run into an other Mac-related problem there.. :-/

I also added 2 new ifdefs, solving a compiling problem with inline directives. I can give the code to the devs if they like. I also can create a patch or diff with svn if they prefer this.

I think there are some problems with the network stack, mac os is from a BSD derivate. Maybe BSD is a little different as normal linux. When i have time i will try to solve that.
