Amongst his many wondrous feats, Joe has done a lot of polishing and sometimes complete reimagining of the current arch faces (the map and inv graphics) over recent weeks.

This patches the client with a local copy of these changes. This means they won't need to be downloaded from the server when you first see them (so no loading tiles)..

For Windows clients, the updater should ask to install the patch automatically next time you play. If it doesn't, make sure your shortcut target is Daimonin_START.exe, not Daimonin.exe.

For Linux clients, it'll work similarly. Except that for reasons I'm not 100% clear on right now, I decided not to include the updater in the binary installer. I'll sort something out soon. Those using a self-built client from SVN can just run daimonin-updater, not daimonin.

For all systems, the dev client currently does not update.

Smacky, i get an error message from the last patch under windows.

X3_INVALID_INPUT

I attached a snapshot from the updater.

I was able to login and had not seen any problems on the first glance but something seems not to work patch wise.

My fault (obviously). I made the diff with xdelta rather rather than xdelta3.

Made a new patch, 7749. People who tried the broken 7748, try again. Anyone else will not be bothered by 7748 now.

I don't think the broken patch actually changed anything. Check please -- original daimonin.p0 size and md5 should be:

No error now but my p0 size is 10.590.691

YeAh, after patch 7759. That's correct (or if that is after 7758 then it did work after all, it just complained a bit while doing it). Whatever, when the updater just lets you straight through to the game, file size should be 10,590,691.

PS, local experiments do show an xdelta patch applied with xdelta3 does claim the error you saw but does work.

Thanks for doing this Smacky, a lot of the mobs were reworked so now they won't flash with that ugly load icon anymore.  Awesome job! :)  I'd push the "like" button for you if I could find it.

Patch works fine for me on Win8 Enterprise, as does the "like" button.
