Hi, I've been using the daimonin client for ubuntu for a while and have had no problems. But that has changed, recently my sound stopped working and then started crashing. Later I realized this problem is because of the cure poison spell, whenever i try to use/bind it it makes the client shut down.
I'm using ubuntu 64-bit version.

Hm, can you post logs or something? Are experienced with debugging?

Also, what version of Ubuntu are you using/ My laptop runs 64 bit and 9.04 was fine, but recently I made the mistake of upgrading to 9.10.

I've not actually tried Daimonin on it yet, besides checking that it runs at all (it does), but sound issues are one of the many problems people are having. There's a sticky thread on this (supposedly with solutions) in ubuntuforums.org.

always wait at least 1-2 months before upgrading to the latest Ubuntu distro, most of the bugs are gone at that point. (In my experience)

yeah, I'm using 9.10,  I guess that was a mistake. I'll know for next time. And no, I'm not that experienced with debugging but I'm sure I could learn

It seems now that it's not the poison spell, it's the F3 button, i used to bind it to F3 and that's why it kept crashing. I can bind it to different keys, just not F3.

What, you mean the spelling error in the function name load_quickslot_entrys? :)

I don't see how that would be specific to F3 and none of the other function keys.

I fixed it, It seems that the problem was with the missing subred.zip folder. I took the items in the  /skins/subred and made a .zip of them, that seemed to fix it.

:)

I reworked the logic here in B5 dev. The subred skin is not missing and that   message is just confusing.

However, of course that fix had nothing to do with your problem, so no guarantees it was fixed.

If you can/will/would like  to, try downloading and building the dev client (source on download page) and see if you can reproduce the crash.

I have the b5 client, but i can't run it, it seems there is a problem with it being 32-bit, it used to work in 9.04, but not in 9.10

Works here. 9.10 picks up on a few new compilation warnings, but nothing major. Compiles and runs. You seem to need to set the permissions after unpacking client.tar.gz though (at least on make/linux/configure).

Oh, wait, looks now as if the dev client and the normal client are conflicting, I can no longer run the normal client, I guess I'll have to uninstall it...
