To unload some stress from this forum, i removed all pics from this post (all dead links, i mean :/ ).
From now on, you can view all my files directly on this website:
There, images are not resized at all, also gifs animate as intended.

EDIT: my website died cause of advanced age :/ That's what happens when depending on free hosting.
Most of my works is still accessible here:

Heya grunt!

I never did post on your other thread. I like the effects a lot--the objects look great and it looks pretty easy to do. However, i am very interested to see how it looks ingame. Could you put them in a quick preview (take a screenie and just use a paint program to put it in the screenie)?

Cheers,

i put message boards and double handle in my pivate lobby on test server. however, these will be visible after collected arches are put on this server, of which im not capable to do. i have tested 2-sided board and handle on my server, working great. though teleporter is designed to have 9 frames of amination, and i wanted it to be turnable. this way, its impossible to implement right now. ill be happy to wait for client side aniims with this. on mapwiz svn (/media/mapwiz/lordgrunt) i put lots more images of teleporter, with different colorings and effects inside. even 1 is empty and non animated, just in case :)
ill try to make demo tomorrow

very nice stuff, indeed! I especially like the last two boards. btw - we don't not have a post delivery yet in daim (nor do we need one, i guess), but if u do this thingy round and make some small doors into it, this would make a good home for messenger pigeons (fits in medival, i think). If u like to, give it a try :)

I added the message boards to SF trunk yesterday.

I think the double handle thing could do with a bit more... ornamentation?

Some kind of wooden palisade wall sections would be nice (Google for images).

there you go:

though, as we was speaking on IRC about it, they block view since they are full sized walls, not just doubled by client halves (like with most of walls).

use with care :)
splitted version is possible but im not sure if thats not too much overhead while mapmaking.

That's a great start!  How about some variants ... like slightly different heights of some logs, slightly different textures on some logs, maybe some combat damage to bits of wall, entrance gates and maybe (this might be hard to achieve in our 2D client) some internal walkways that guards would stand on so they can look over the top of the wall (I appreciate they might not be functional - i.e. you can't actually stand on them and look over), so just a visual effect.

But excellant work!  I think I can hear a tribe of Ogres asking for a new home ...

EDIT:  Point of clarification though ... lots of great images coming from LG ... should they be going directly into mapwiz\arch or should they be going into mapwiz\arch\mapwiz\lordgrunt?

Nice work!

Torchwood: Ogres live in caves in mountains! They even don't have intelligence to make axe and cut trees... At least in my books ;)

hehe Yes, Grunt seems able to make exactly the images I have in mind. :)

We talked a bit on IRC about making appropriate gates for the palisade, but a slight compromise might be necessary (because I don't think the server can handle what Grunt suggested [a drawbridge] at least not easily),

Tomorrow we will try a trick to make the images go halfheight like normal walls (they can't just double up because the top is different from the bottom), although a drawback to this trick just occurred to me.

And yes, my need for such a palisade is to keep ogres out! ;)

Would it not be possible to have a pointy bit on the half-height image, so that when it goes double-height it just slots together seamlessly?

Oh the shaded bit at the bottom would be a problem, I guess.
