It worked before you set FS and Res?

Start a terminal (control + alt + T). Enter rm ~/.daimonin/0.10/settings/options.dat. Now try running Dai as normal (no need to reinstall).

Great. The FS toggle and resolution code is pretty old and broken so I'm not surprised you had problems.

I use Mint too and just tested. FS works fine. I don't have 1024x600 option but I set 1100x700 (god knows why such a ridiculous res is available) and had the same freeze.

So try setting FS (then logout and login again to make sure everything's ok). Then try changing res but stick to normal ones (ie, try 1024x768 if available). If it crashes again just rm the options.dat file and try again.
