Title: My laptop's keyboard
Post by: xpawel18x on 05, January 2010, 06:29:16
I took this pic to help newbies out who use a laptop and are having a hard time setting up the movement keys. I myself play on a laptop and this prevents me from ever getting confused where my movement keys are.

Nice! ;D
However, don't forget to set 5 as well as it will stop all movement to prevent running into walls or mobs and killing yourself.
Also, be sure to change [L]ock to a different key (or [M]ark if you lower the keys a row) or it won't work.
You can also use the mouse :D

Nobbit - are you using the Fn key, by any chance? Then that layout is just using the keypad equivalent.

I've never been able to use the fn trick for movement.
The reason you need to reset the l and m is if you rebind them for movement then you need to have a different key for lock and mark (actually if you do not rebind them they still work for lock and mark, but not for movement).

Well, not having to use Fn is the whole point of rebinding the keys for a laptop. If you use Fn, you don't need to rebind any keys at all, since you are switching to the laptop's apology for a keypad.
