I'm doing a project on the esrb rating system here in america. I would like to interview ya'll by forum so please if you could just answer the question or questions. Thanks for all of your help and i'll see ya online
1. Is the esrb a fair ratings sytem?
2. Does the esrb rate the games fairly?
3. Would you change the esrb?
-
Okay, wats the esrb to start with, and how do u get to it.
-
Can we exclude British people form this discussion? It doesn't really concern them.
-
Such discrimination Bob!
http://www.esrb.org/
It's a ratings system for computer games. It ensures 12 year olds don't mistakenly buy a game without swearing/violence/sex/drug references/etc.
(In Europe we have a different system: http://www.pegi.info/. Same deal, but perhaps less cryptic.)

1. Hmm, not too shabby
2. yep
3. Cant really see how u would
Can I have me brownie point now :D

Yeah, why would a 12 year old play a game without swearing/violence/sex/drug references/etc.?

Whats Daimonin rated, XXX?
-
I doubt if it is rated. ESRB (and I think PEGI too) is voluntary. If it was rated I'd guess it would be Everyone 6+ or Everyone 10+.
Although, a multiplayer game which allows chatting must be unrateable as a Sykes could appear and say anything at any time. But I'm sure the rating organisations have that all figured out.

No, this game kinda should be T (teenagers, 13 +). I've seen kids my age who would laugh at the fact that you can get diarrea... :(
-
1. Yes its fair
2. Most of the time, but there is games i think is strange like the GTA games or Singles. (GTA is 18+ in europ0e but not singles)
3.No. Its not a law, its just so they dont is mistaken. But dont care
(over 18). And my sister and brothers could play if they want to.
I think Daimonin is 10+ top. Many games with online games allow text and/or coice chat, and that doesnt change the ratings because someone may day dirty words.
-
I think the ESRB is a fine system and all the fat ass lazy parents in the US that don't want to look down at the small box with the rating and text about why it's rated that way are stupid.
I also think that the ESRB rates the games fairly and that Jack Thompson should rename himself Jackass Thompson; that way people could be warned before talking to him.
Would I change the ESRB? Maybe, I might have a warning along with the rating saying that even with a rating parents may find the content not suitable for their children and therefore should watch while their kids play to be sure if it is ok.
I don't think I broke any Daimonin rules so far...

I mean sure, we got those ratings here, but the parents dun even care, well mine dont *shifty eyes*
