SAs can drop no-drops like normal items. So get an SA on top of you. ;) S/he can get the key, then drop it. Now kill the soul to get his key. Then retrieve the other key.

Or an even cheatier way would be for an SA to get the key direct from the spawnpoint. /resetmap and repeat as much as you like/ Then distribute them as needed.

No, I think you have given me an idea, gonna try going through the door with the key in hand, drop it, then kill the Lost Soul, the only downside would be that to get back in the dungeon I would have to get both keys again, at least I hope this would be a temporary solution. The other solution I think would solve this issue, would be just to change the names of the keys

As for HC and the mirror, their look to be several possibilities:

  • The simplest I think is replace the remove the map mods on the currebt mirro obj (so you just have a standard mirror_big arch). On the same square put a magic_ear sys_object and attach a SAY script to it. Have that script teleport the player who says the trigger phrase in range. With a little thought you could vary this phrase, or even make it unique, per player. For example, earlier on have a Guardian of the Mirror mob. When killed he drops a onedrop scroll. When applyed thic scroll has an APPLY event. The script checks for a per player ds. If found (ie, another such script has already been read) it just says 'the script is illegible' or something. When not found it tells you your phrase to use the mirror and saves it to a ds. The SAY script checks for this ds. If found and your words match, away you go. If you say t he wrong thing, Shroud loses exp.
  • Redo the mirror map object as a walk on exit with a mirror face.
  • Redo the mirror map object as a non-animated stand still invulnerable friendly mob with a mirror face. The current TALK will then work.
Sorry, the first is not easiest at all. Most amusing though.

Would that potentially crash the server if someone gets it wrong and I'm offline?
Doesn't matter, you'd die anyway. ;D Shroud's a hacker. After many hours of deep thought I have came to that conclusion.

No, we will tweak the security.lua script to allow deleting your playerfile, and if you aren't online when someone gets it wrong it will just delete you to prevent any server bugs.

Hm, there are issues attaching scripts to inv items (simply that mappers are encouraged to use rel paths so we can easily move whole mapsets but this fails when the actual object is moved independently -- which actually is a wider issue in 0.10.7 because MMs can pick up anything).

But lets ignore the 0.10.7 issue for now. Forget about the onedrop scroll. Attach a DEATH script to the Guardian. This messages the killer with his personal passphrase ('A hollow voice says"plugh",' 'etc)> The phrase is saved to a per player ds as above. Also the script creates a note in the killer's inv with this phrase written down (a reminder).

Of course it'd be much simpler just to drop a key to allow passage, but this is more fun I think.

Would trying to delete an already deleted playerfile not cause issues too?

I  think Smacky's idea is not only preferable but necessary as an alternative to keys.
I have 48 keys as a level 110 for access to all currently available  areas that have a combined weight of 4.5 kg.
This has become a problem and another key just is not wanted or beneficial especially since all keys are no drop so I can't leave the one's I know I'm not going to use in my apartment.
To repeat an alternative to keys needs to be found and I think Smacky's suggestion is a good start.
I hope the SA community will really encourage this direction.

Committed the code fixes to dev:

quest_triggers generally drop again from greys.

Onedrop keys drop again based on their teeth also, not just their name.

Ideally I want to put this on main ASAP as part of the final 0.10.7 interim, d. Thaat includes a couple oof _people_ fixes from the last 2 weeks and his unfinished buff fix. But if the buff fix is going to take a while, lets interim that one as e.

So?
