Nice. Is the top a slideshow of development?

This sort of thing needs some way to customise the image, eg, to show disrepair, constant use, or just personalisation.

I guess the most obvious and easiest (for mappers) solution is to create a few variant images, eg, each more beat up than the last.

I wonder if eg, the bucket. wood, and chimney could be separate objects? IIRC hearth is layer 5, so bucket and wood 4, and chimney 7.

Yeah first image was just showing the work.  Here's a few variations. Keep the tips and hints coming, it's the only way to get what we want.  ;)

Thanks Paradon, and nice to see you around.  Here's the pic of the day, for no good reason except for fun.

Found Saber of Light today YaY!
Almost dropped it as trash when I didn't see a Magic sign on the weapon but fortunately the unique Saber/Katana shape caught my attention as we don't have those in this game *phew*

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Myths.  I've added the magic symbol to the new priest weapons, this will take effect after the next reboot.  Cheers.

Each log is too tall and as the walls have no thickness there's no sense of substantiality. Hence it looks like shaded brown wallpaper, not logs. ;)

Try 2 or 3 loga per wall (ie, 4-6 when doubled) and 1/4 square thickness (or whatever, like certain cave walls IIRC).

Yup you are right.  We do already have log cabin walls using 2 logs per layer, was going for a big log but not sure it'll work.  Not quite ready to give up on it yet, I'll post a pic after the touch ups and see if I can't fool your eye into thinking it is a log and not wallpaper.

As someone who used to live in a log cabin in an Amish community which manufactured dozens of log homes per year, I think the tops of the walls need to be a lighter shade of brown (think the inside of a tree). Normally the outside will be stained to be darker in color (though not always) and the tops and bottoms of each log are shaved off so it's not a perfect circle (else they'd be impossible to stack). The area inside is much lighter than the stained outside.

Thanks for the tips  :)  Here is the beehive I'm testing, before and after:

Beautiful work Joe, love the hexagons like a real hive. I think the wall thickness should be more defined like in the Before picture otherwise as Smacky commented it has a wallpaper like feeling.
Lastly, instead of the mushrooms in the hive I would put a gob of honey that we could get stuck in - I guess it would be paralyze but could still have a magic mouth say you are stuck in a gob of honey...
