Good idea, might be worth talking to Sarc and Lippy about good mobs and things you can do with them. Sarc's arrows are a constant cause of my demise...not sure if that's a good or bad thing in a raid.
I know the principles, and have used /create on my local server many a time. I know the other thing to do is to assign your /create to a macro, then there is also no possibility of a mistype. But I was wondering if there were specific things to avoid ... like don't have a mob with x ability, or whatever?
Hey - maybe we could have a new forum post or even new board where map masters can add their tried and tested /create commands for cool mobs? Would need to be a private board so as to not spoil any surprises ...
I'm no expert having never performed a raid as such, although I have used the /create command on the test and my private servers to create mobs. My advice would be to play around on a private server first. Use the /create command to make some mobs with the stats you want to use ( vary the attacks, the resists, speeds, level, etc and I believe you can use the randomitems command to give ranged attacks although I've not tested this one ). Once you have some mobs you like, write the /create command for them down. Next go to the main game server ( or dev if you're gonna do a raid on there, or maybe here anyway to test ). Type in the /create commands for the mobs you want, adding a number at the beginning as the amount. This saves the command so you can use the arrow keys to scroll up to it without having to type it again, which risks type-os ( which would likely crash the server ). You can /resetmap to delete the mobs you've just created as you're probably not gonna do the raid just yet.
After that, it's just the raid item you have to think about, which of course is entirely up to you.
This is how I understand orchestrating a raid is done from the mob creation side of things, but if anyone sees any errors please reply them!
Other things like when and where and what level are a totally different rant cos this is too long already XD
I suppose I should add that in this case, I'm 'Dad' ... :-)
I looked at Sam's Xmas wish list, and he had "Daimonin Xmas Raid" on it ... so I guess I'm looking for some pointers or advice from experts.
Could we perhaps schedule a raid (I know this is always difficult with time zones etc.) - might get a big load of players come back for the special event???

Thanks Evil ...
