I picked this thread: http://www.daimonin.org/forums/suggestions/my-2000-coppers/msg11773/#msg...
For a number of reasons:
A. It brings back (happy? terrifying?) memories of a time when Longir was more of an active presence.
B. I liked seeing how what was a burning question back in the day (retrieving arrows) has become moot by changes to the game.
C. I liked to read how people imagined what group play would be like (and basically to read how Noamire's ideas fit the way best group play actually take's place in my exprience).
That's an interesting read. A lot of the problems they talk about do seem to have been solved by the changes that were made in B4.
The only one for me which is still a little off balance is archery itself. Every arrow still hits. Are there any plans to change this in B5? I don't see how it would be much of a problem to implement, archery uses a WC rating just as melee does, if that could be used against a mobs AC in the usual way then you have your hitting chance (maybe archery WC should start lower and rise with it's level, maybe at 0.5 per level?). Then you'd only need to raise the damage it did, which again I'd imagine would be fairly easy ( probably just adjusting a couple of archery arches XD ).
Any thoughts?
