Well, managed to get some time to start mapping today, having now understood where Gridarta is and what works/doesn't these days. Need to have a chat with Ragnor sometime - aiming for this weekend sometime if I can catch him - and sort out a bug ...
I like the new behaviour in Gridarta, whereby if you add, say, a wall to a tile that already had a wall it removes the old wall. Makes mapping so much simpler ...
Hopefully will get some more time to map this evening, and then its the weekend!

Anyone can view any part of Daipedia (ATM at least).
Maybe that page (book) name is a bit confusing, but the point of the MapWizardry pages is not special knowledge for MW eyes only, but advanced (and not-so advanced) tips for all mappers.
Yeah but I wasn't sure everyone could access that thread; I figured as a lot of people who probably aren't in the Mappers group ( which they are welcome to join! ) are mapping at the moment and will likely read things like this.

Yeah that makes things a lot faster for me, it saves me having to redo everything every time i change something. Also I like the map validator, now I know how to use it. It's a lot easier than I thought it would be, I was kinda worried it'd be a lot of faffing around so I'd worked around it for a while. If anyone's using mapmapker and would like help with this, here's the settings recommended by Smacky ( he might have changed something since this, but here's what he screenied ) :
