I just reorganised the background story into 10 chapters.
It'd be -- how do you say? -- way cool to precede each chapter with an illustration of the main events in that chapter.
These illustrations can be in whatever style you like, but should be a reasonable size (say no wider than 500ish pixels and no taller than 300ish pixels).
It'd be nice to have all 10 done in the same style/by the same artist, but if you are only inspired by one or two chapters or just don't have time to produce 10 pieces of artwork, that's fine too.
Um, I probably ought to offer a prize for this... I know@ do it and I won't ban you! hehe
Please join the Artists group and upload your illustrations to the background story illustrations gallery.

1. No deadline. Obviously if nothing happens for a long time I'll assume no-one's interested, so questions like yours are good to at least show interest.
2. You're the artist. It's up to you. Do beautiful oil paintings. Do charcoal drawings. Do stick figures (that could be hilarious). OK, stick figure is probably out. The point is to represent the mood and atmosphere of the game to new players, so whatever fits that. Please not cutesy anime though, because 1001 games use that and Dai isn't a cutesy anime game.
A couple questions..
1. When's the deadline?
2. Should this be in color, or black and white?

Re dimensions: 500x300 is approximate of course. You can also do it in landscape (ie, you want to do a battle scene for one of the onslaught chapters) or portrait (ie, you want to do a portrait of the bloke looking noble and heroic and no doubt a little windswept for the Ascent of Humanity chapter) format, because I can put the image above the text or float it left or right so the text flows round it, depending on the actual dimensions.
