This board is for story idea and discussion from players.

IMO story content for Daimonin should be treated in the same 'closed source' way as map content -- to prevent spoilage and keep Daimonin a unique and surprising world.

Therefore posting actual stories which you hope to get included in Daimonin might not be the way to go. I suggest this board be used more to give us an idea of what you can write, to suggest/request ideas, to discuss techniques for squeezing a decent story into a very limited space (see below), and so on, than to post full stories. Actual stories can be submitted privately to devs and may be requested if we like what we see in this board.

The kinds of writing we are looking for include:
  • Books

Stories and histories about the world. Check out the background story and maps on the test server for inspiration. Try to write within the pre-existing background and what you see on the server -- don't make stuff up, conflict with the background, or presuppose maps which don't exist -- but also be imaginative.

Books should be limited to a maximum 2000 characters for reasons of performance (that chunk of data needs to be transmitted to the player each time he opens the book). This is of course not very much so your writing needs to be tight.

Keep in mind that there is no reason why you can't chop a longer story into several volumes and in that way spread your 10000 character opus over 5 books. But remember that just because a character finds volume IV doesn't mean he has read volumes I, II, and III already. So each volume should work as a standalone book.

Also, don't worry too much about formatting (don't think about justification, bold, italics, etc.). If your book is accepted the devs will create the arch definition -- all you need do is come up with the content.
