All is working fine, just use the daimonin_start.exe autoupdater.
Be sure to do it admin modus when you use vista.

what i get every time i run as administrator.. it starts to load and it freezes. i had just uninstalled then reinstalled. the part i really hate is I CANT CLOSE IT! i have to log out then back in

Jeffy - since it's hanging in the middle of updating your local copy of the server files, it could be that the local files have got corrupted somehow.

Try this (from what you say, I assume you are running Vista): in your user folder (below desktop), go to AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\daimonin\client\srv_files. You should see the following files in that folder:

bmaps.tmp
client_anims
client_bmap
client_settings
client_skills
client_spells

Delete all these files, then start the client again normally (not as administrator). Hopefully it should work now.

If that doesn't work, try going into the folder above that and delete bmaps.p0 as well.

i just went to the file location and inside srv files i got only 3 nd i just deleted em.

So what happened? Did it work after that? Sounds like it didn't get as far as loading all the data before.

nope same thing just a bit slower. and i rechecked the srv_fo;es and nothin was there.. so i guess it didnt redownload it. BUT!! i think its the bitmaps.. cuz i cant find them in the daimonin file. i checked each folder .. nottin
 
         nup found em. but... its only 1 file thats white.. like a file u cant open becuase u dont have the thing to open and w/e ...but its bmaps.p0

I have the exact same problem. it gets to updating bmaps and horks. I eventually end task. it never says any data is transferred, but the first time after reinstalling it takes a second to do each of the first 3, so I assume data is transferring. I've tried deleting the files mentioned. no love. it says in the download section that this is a beta, any way to get an older version? though that probably isn't the problem.

Not sure where to go from here. I'm running vista, have poked holes in the firewall for 13326 and 13327. Anyone have any ideas?

Are you running it as admin? try that. Also try installing it in c:/daimonin instead of c:/programs/daimonin

Hello everyone,

I'm really new to Daimonin, but already having a problem with logging in. (I use Ubuntu 9.04; the client ver is 0.9.7.1 108)

So I only see 2 servers (Daimonin: 62.75.224.80:13327, and the Dev Server). I create a character at Daimonin server with the name same as my website acc.: Yellnaar. Everything's fine, I finish the creation, it pops me into the game. I talk to a few NPCs, do the first quest. Then I press ESC and Logout.

I wait for 20 secs, and retry logging in. I type my name in (Yellnaar) but the server says "These is no character with that name!". And the even more funnier part is that is allows me to create the same character again with the SAME NAME (what puts me into the game again - of course from the begining).

It seems like if the server weren't able to store the new accounts.

I have 13326-13327 ports enabled; tried running the SDL client with admin rights; done the daimonin-updater (admin again), but the server still can't remember my name. My password has only letters in it, so it can't cause a problem either. (Yep, all can start hackin it

Do you have any idea?

Did you fully complete the first quest, including killing the rats? Because if you didn't, you wouldn't have gained any experience, and a character is only saved if it has some experience points.

Otherwise, it seems that everything is running correctly for you - you wouldn't have got as far as you did if there were any problems.

Note that you cannot connect to the Dev Server with that version of the client, only the main (Daimonin) server. The two servers are running different versions of the software.

Yeah that's the problem -- no exp, no save (in B4 anyway).

The first quest, Fanrir's Sack, is just looking in a bag, so no exp for that. The mice are in the third quest, Mouse Hunt.

By first quest, I meant of course, the whole set of Fanrir's tasks. And mice, not rats, sorry

(though I seem to remember finishing the mice quest once in my rounds, but not quite sure about reporting it back...)
