I updated the map maker package today.

Its now updated to the current trunk and it includes 2 editor versions.
The latest "stable" release and the an unstable called one, which is
the latest working from gridarta. Both should work fine.

You can start them with the .bat batch files in the installation root directory
after you unzipped the package.

All is pre-compiled and pre-installed and should work under windows out of the box.
For linux, just run the make files for client & server, everything else is installed.

The 2nd packages can be downloaded here:

https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=53415&package_id=195495

It is the map maker package for the trunk, means the current development versions 0.10.0.
Its the same as described above, just for the trunk.

MT, glad to see you're still alive. Hope all things are going better with you.

I was going to suggest that you add a link to DL the new package from the main SF Dai Project DL page, but I see that you've already done that.  You're probably also the one who updated the links to the other files to the current version of Dai, so thank you for that. :D

that was definitely worthy comment added to discussion :)
if you are jus trying out to see what happens, i'd suggest community chat. something in 'hello, folks' manner for example.

btw, its great to see these packages out. does it mean that mapmakers now have a chance to create maps with all the new archs and new animation system/client side anims stuff?

No. That mapmaker is/was an interim version. I haven't used it, but IIRC it has trunk (0.10) of the time it was made an the latest Gridarta at that time.

When B5 is on test there'll be another new one, hopefully with many new arches too.

reason i asked is mainly DP development, which atm has preety tied hands. it's graphical design was mostly based on arches we didnt have/dont have on main arch set.
but lets not hijack this thread.

There'll be a new B5 mapmaker released in the next few days. Apart from the usual bug fixes and minor features to server and editor, there will be a bigger change:

The map header is changing from
Code: [Select]
name Foo§bar.ogg|0|-1

to
Code: [Select]
name Foo
background_music bar|0|-1

Dai has supported both formats for a little while, but Gridarta has only supported the old format until tonight.

As of this new mapmaker, the editor will read maps in either format but only write in the new format and the server/client will only correctly read maps in this new format (old format maps will still be read but the media tag will be part of the displayed map name and no music will play).

So this means that when this new mapmaker is released, mappers will need to use the editor to load their maps, go to map properties and cut and paste the name to separate out the music, then resave.

(Or use a batch processing tool like rpl and do all your maps automatically.)

Now I'll do every single (B5 and B6) map in all the SVNs but I can't come round to all your houses and do all your local in-development maps for you, so each mapper will have to do her own.

Once done, it is important that you don't then use an old Gridarta ono those maps or they'll have the wrong header again and won't work properly on a B5 server.
