Hey all!

Well, i finally got my mapmaking video tutorials up on a place that won't delete them after a certain amount of time. They are now up on YouTube :).

I spent a good 4 days making these video tutorials and i sure hope they help you all out with mapping and anything else that i cover! Take a look:

Installing The Beta 4 Preview
Installing The Daimonin Server <--- The Beta 4 Preview should include this
Making Your First Map
Connecting Some Daimonin Maps
Connecting Some Daimonin Maps(2)
Daimonin Mapping (The Wiki)
Making Artwork For Daimonin
Making Archs
Aligning Images

Feel free to refer people to them :)

Cheers,

Ok, the green patch may not be there in your package. Don't worry, there are other ways of getting to your map. Hopefully, you will only need to do the first one.

The first way is to go to the mapping lobby. Currently, to do this you walk to the JAIL in Guild Hall. There is a cell that is open with a teleporter in it. Go in that. You are now in the mapping lobby. If this doesn't work because things have changed, then go to the next way.

The next way is to teleport to the lobby. First, become a DM. Then, log in and go to DM Mode by typing /dm. Lastly, hit enter and type in "/goto /unofficial/lobby" as this is where the lobby is currently located in the packages. If this does not work, make sure that you have a space between /goto and the path. If you do and it still isn't working, then type in the file path to the mapping lobby in your package from the maps folder instead of "/unofficial/lobby". Also note that if you had to change the file path in your /goto command, you will most likely have to change the file paths that you put in to your exits during the video.

Cheers,
Unislash

PS: I'm sorry about the sound going much slower than the video. That's U-Tube's fault.

"Makeing your first map" has a bit dropped, so the voice and video are horribly desynced (The talk about the forest happens during the mob-addition video, for instance)

Youtube's fault. Dunno why it does it...

I'll try re-uploading the video and seeing if that helps at all.

Making quests has everything to do with lua scripts and very little to do with the actual mapping. As a video of me scripting something (more, hacking an original script to death) would be very boring and probably unhelpful... it's probably not going to happen. Also, i'd be terrible at it :) lol; I've only scripted 3 quests.

No B5 videos. Until people make some. But the B4 ones are mostly relevant.

Feel free to ask such questions in this board though.
