Hiya, peeps!
The idea came to me after _person_, who seems to be the center of everything nowadays, shouted that everyone was in a library since it was so quiet. So I got this idea: what if areas like the library could be made to save any books dropped within it's walls despite map resets and server crashes. As everyone knows, knowledge is power. Can this be done? What do you guys think about this? People can sell the books to the library for a pretty penny or w/e. This could open up the possibility of jobs where a player has to run errands for the errand master and gain rewards or skills or w/e. :D

Interesting idea. There are a few problems,  but it shouldn't be too hard to implement.

First, players could steal every book the library saved up. Or, are you suggesting we make them no_pick 1 after adding them to the library?

Also, players who collect books will have to compete with the new source.

But it's a good idea. I guess just a datastore would work, similar to the script used in Sammy's Grotto. It would just have to hold the name of each book, the story, and the image.

"No_pick 1" for sure. Can't have someone moving the entire content of the public library into that chest next to their bed in their apartment. (Imagine what kind of late fee that would be :P)

Like _person_ said, this would probably affect book collectors adversely. If it were a locksmith in which the item in question being saved up was keyrings, I wouldn't be too happy.

It's a solid concept, but I'm just not sure how I feel about it myself.

"No_pick 1" is the best solution imo. What's this "datastore" you speak of?

Basically, it's a Lua function that'll... Store data. It'll write to a file what the book says, etc.

So it'll make a "copy" of the book that can only be stored and read at the library?
