After helping a player IG about a problem he had (his text-inputbox/console was off-screen) -I had to walk him through each step, open client folder > settings > open interface.gui with notepad, edit lines etc, etc.

I realized in settings there is no option to reset the window positions/GUI. I think it should be included (from what I know, it would be a matter of copying some values to interface.gui- if I knew C++ I'd do it, but I don't). This simple problem is likely to trip up any users unfamiliar to computers.

Edit: small grammar correction to correct context.

If you change your resolution, the widgets that end up off screen remain off screen. The client should be able to detect this, and if necessary, move them back on screen. I forgot about this actually, so I'll stick that in my todo list.

if you delete the option.dat file, i believe it replaces it with the default file.

options.dat contains all the options settings. interface.gui contains all the HUD layout info. Deleting those files in Linux, the client will just create another one with previous settings. With windows, it crashes.

Edit: ah, actually it does create another one in windows. But also crashes.

That's been in B5 for a while. Both /reset widgets (default positions) and /reset widgetstatus (part of a more complex and unfinished system for showing/hiding individual widgets and 'snapping' them together).
