While playing today several people bought me burnt out torches. Bob (hobo) then came along with over 150 and said "do you still pay 1c for torches?"
I replied yes then he asked me if I was willing to start a group to keep Daimonin clean, as a collector of burnt out torches (1567 and counting) I would benifit AND no more burnt out torches on the floor.

So here we are, I am asking anyone to help me collect them (Keep Daimonin clean) also every toch donated means 1c!!!

If you would like to help Just say on this thread.

If you think it is annoying and a bad idea also just say.

Soon we will create a group (using cherbot) full of volunteers who are willing to accept burnt torches for 1 copper in return, in order to keep Daimonin clean. I for one am tired of seeing torches littering the streets, strewn about in places of natural beauty. Not to mention they can start forest fires. So pick up your burnt torches and help keep Daimonin a better place to play!

I'll gladly do my share.   If anyone wants to give me burned out torches I'll pay 1c for it and pass that along to the group.  This is one group I would glady join without hesitation.    Just let me know when it's set up.

Keep our community clean!

I've always picked up the torches I've seen laying around.  I have over 300 of them IIRC.

And there was me thinking the server did some sort of garbage collection on long-ago-dropped items (like it does with corpses, tombstones etc.)

It does. If a map hasn't been visited in <some length of time> it is reset. And obviously in a server reset too.

But where's the community spirit in that? Someone ought to collect the piles of non-magical items that heap up in DT and have massive junkyard giveaways in, ooh, say the graveyard.

Well, I would, but my medical advisor says I should stay away from there for a while yet...

Hmmm that sounds right up my alley, I love going into DT and I always sort through those piles regardless looking for carelessly discarded poison booze. I'll go do that right now.

Daimonin not clean? I'm pretty much the suckerfish in DT... taking everyones dropped items. Litterbugs! Oh and if darkforest tries to give you a burnt torch, DON'T TAKE IT! Thats my lucky torch and it doesn't like to be lonely in a box of thousands of other torches. It needs the love and care of a real person!

Clobber: I hope those burnt out torches stack well, otherwise you are putting quite a strain on the server ;-)

Also, as a friendly advice: don't stack more than two billion torches per stack, or you will risk wrapping around and ending up with 0 or negative 2 billion torches. =)
