Basically, I need to get back into mapping and scripting, but I'm gonna need something super inspiring to get me going!

So, the best story has it. And I mean a story - not an idea. Stories are much better at creating an immersive plotline for the player to complete :)

See your story come alive in the world of Daimonin - and it'll be hosted as an event once it's finished, too. Even if that doesn't appeal, think of it as doing me a favour :P

I would suggest two additional pieces of information

1. Format - Do you want self contained prose or would you prefer to have it broken down. A typical example could be a quest item that is a book with information

2. Submission - Do you want entries posted here or sent to you? It could be more interesting for players if storyline is secret but on the other hand public entries could inspire others

Hmm... good questions.

Any form of writing :) It's the writer's artistic choice, but it ought to suit the purpose. If it makes sense for your story to be broken down like a quest book then do it like that, on the other hand if it's talking about how lovely your walk was then prose would be better :P

Let's go for private submission. On completion (hmm... three weeks from today? 28/03/2014) I will publish the entries here unless explicitly stated by the author not to. The winner's will also not be posted until the maps are released online.

I will think on this one, not sure if I will truly come up with anything or not... although this reminds me of a failed attempt at a map way in the past concerning dwarves and other things... I might be able to get the actual story written, provided I can find the peace and quiet to do writing without interruptions, which is nigh impossible w/ the people I'm around.
