I have noticed that in a lot of isometric RPGs and MMORPGs, the color of a certain monster type changes color appearance in the sprite of the monster. For Example, A Green Goblin with brown clothes on would be reused again later in that game but with blue goblins in red clothing and the name goblin would be changed to something like Imp.

Any Questions?

I used that principle a lot when creating my stone/fire/ice/ghost/etc. gargoyle and imp graphics, which will hopefully make it into game at B6.
