i'm sure we all know of the notification on our screen that we're low health... the little red cross...
now what if there was a notification of if we were poisoned on the screen?
sometimes i find myself poisoned in the middle of a huge battle.. wondering how the hell it happened..
also: when we use the cure poison potion (or spell), it says we regain stats. why doesn't it tell us that we lose them?

just a thought.

You're right.

In fact I want to steal a suggestion from Pupnik last year that when you are poisoned the hp bar is purple. A warning icon makes sense too.

Both ideas are easy but first I need to isolate the poison on/off signal from the server (which implies I need to actually look for it not just vaguely hope it'll become apparent one day ;)).

As a side, slightly related topic:

What happens if two warning signs are needed. For example, if you're poisoned and also low hp?

ATM we potentially have overburdened and low hp. The code staggers them so only one flashes on at a time.

Hmm...
Well, back OT.

Either of these helpful? Not that you couldn't have done the first yourself ;) If you have any better ideas, I'd be willing to give them a go.

they're both possible, but i was thinking of using a skull+crossbones that's green. no black outline, just straight green, more of a deeper green than what's in your cross in the link. kinda like the color of the poison jellies in jagged cave

looks good nice work, can we get a red skull also so we know when we have deathsickness.

IMO death sickness would be obnoxious. Ideally not everyone in the game should be wealthy enough to afford remove DS after every 1 point, so it's be a nuisance having it flash about madly while you're fighting.

why not have an icon you can click on that gives your health. a pop up box opens up and gives what your stats should be, if you are poisoned, have death sickness, or anything else that might effect a player. maybe have an icon that shows up if a player is infected with anything. no flashing, just an icon that can be clicked on.

Because poison and weight etc are all immediate and leave people asking why whatever the effect is, is happening. That flashing symbol answers their question. Perhaps instead, it should just be a symbol above or below the stats to indicate death sickness? Or depleted stats to be shown in red?

I think these should be two different things, poison, and depletion utilize the "flashing" symbol modal, and death-sickness something less intrusive and maybe more elaborate i.e. something that would show A. that one is death sick and B. what one's stats would be if death sickness were cured.
