As most of you know I've very recently become an Admin here. As you may not know (but could probably pick up if you looked closely at some of my posts), I'm relatively speaking, certainly compared to most of the people involved in this project, computer illiterate. Since joining Daimonin I've had to google such basic terms as "woot" and "rtfm" just to understand what people are saying. Any way below is a list of terms that I've managed to figure out what they mean by paying attention and putting two and two together. I'm posting them in case it will be helpful to some one else
i.r.c- infra red channel: The magical means by which the Dev team instantaneously communicates with each other, ensuring that they function as one common hive mind (kind of like a cross between Bluetooth and Telepathy).
s.v.n- staggeringly vast network: a maze like Library or perhaps jungle with a very big elephant, although mostly we hear just about its trunk.
lua-primal life force that together with gridarta brought Daimonin to life (assisted by lesser forces like blender).
Admin- headache medicine. Example of use in a sentence: “This double poster is giving me a real headache. Can some one get me in an Admin?”
isometric-better then the U.S. system known as “notsometric.” (for mappers from the u.s. 1 layer in "isometric"= 1.5 "notsometric" layers.
.ogg file- Old Gangster’s Gangster (equivalent to a “man’s man”) you need to have the right connections (codices, plugins) if you want to be down with the ogg!
As stated these are just working definitions, as I refine my understanding (and come across new terms), I may update this. Hope you find it useful...
